Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin travels from Balmoral Castle to the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh
ABERDEEN, SCOTLAND - SEPTEMBER 11: The funeral cortege carrying the coffin of Queen Elizabeth II leaves Balmoral Castle before arriving at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh on September 11, 2022 in Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom. The state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II will be held at Westminster Abbey on Monday, September 19, Buckingham Palace announced on Saturday. The queen’s coffin is being transported to the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, the Scottish capital, where staff there will also be allowed to pay their respects. The journey is expected to take around six hours.
