Autopilot buses serve residents of Guangzhou, China
GUANGZHOU, CHINA - AUGUST 16: Recently, autopilot buses have been tested and operated in the prosperous areas of Guangzhou, China, where citizens can make free travel reservations through their mobile phones.Footage on Tuesday, Aug. 16, shows the autopilot buses in the city traffic of Guangzhou.The buses are expected to attract a lot of public interest.Autopilot system uses numerous sensors located around the vehicle to navigate the environment.In order to keep the vehicle traveling within the appropriate lane, cameras and digital monitors are used in this system.When autopilot is active, the system can steer the car, change lanes, adjust speed, and control brake function. However, if it detects a problem, autopilot returns the control to the driver. Also, the driver can take over control in case of emergencies.
