Deforestation on endangered wildlife at the Amazon
AMAZONAS, COLOMBIA - MARCH 31: An aerial view of the deforestation and the destruction of habitats in Amazon, Colombia on March 31, 2023. The main cause of this continuous increase in forest exploitation lies in the increased consumption of meat and the consequent expansion of extensive livestock farming, as well as soybean cultivation and pasture creation for livestock. The Amazon rainforest is shared by several countries, and statistics show a significant loss of forest in these countries. For example, Brazil has lost about 20% of its Amazon rainforest, while Colombia has lost more than 10%. Similarly, Bolivia, Peru, and Venezuela have lost between 5% and 10% of their Amazon forests.
