Garbage spilling into the Guanabara Bay in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro threatens nature and life, says locals. According to the allegations, approximately 4.5 million liters of wastewater are discharged into the bay every day. Pollution in the bay is increasing every day, as the filtration plants operate far below their capacity. According to another claim, due to the termination of the contract with the cleaning company, no cleaning work has been carried out for four months. Therefore, the garbage spilled into the bay causes pollution and foul-smelling.
