DAKAR, SENEGAL - APRIL 11: Stunning drone footage captured the unique visuals of Shell Island (Ile aux Coquillages) on Thursday (April 11), which is composed of sand mussel shells.The Fadiouth Island, also known as Shell Island (Ile aux Coquillages) about 150 kilometers from the capital Dakar, in the Thies Region at the end of the Petite Cote of Senegal is believed to have been formed in the 11th century as a result of human habits.It is estimated that the island was formed when the Serer ethnic group, who are engaged in sand mussel farming, collected mussel shells from a large deposit formed by the tides for centuries.
