'Super Flower Blood Moon' eclipse over Statue of Liberty in New York
NEW YORK, UNITED STATES - MAY 26: New Yorkers witnessed a spectacular blood moon total lunar eclipse early Wednesday (May 26).This month’s full moon known as “Flower moon” created picturesque scenes despite the cloudy sky when it became completely immersed for a short while in Earth's shadow.Photographers and people filled the seaside in the city to capture photographs of the celestial spectacle over the Statue of Liberty. The lunar eclipse, which was visible from Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific, and the western part of the Americas lasted about five hours from start to finish. This spectacular event where the full moon appears red is caused by a total lunar eclipse - where the moon is completely shadowed by the Earth.Writing by Sibel Uygun
