On November 21, 2011, it was reported that the Russian military decided to abandon the development of ekranoplanes, and the remaining ekranoplanes will be disposed of in the coming months.However, activists are petitioning to preserve the unique missile carrier. As a result, in July 2020, the ekranoplane was towed by sea to the shore near Derbent, thereby realizing a complex navigation and engineering task. In the future, the ekranoplane was pulled ashore, and in 2021, the "Harrier" will be exhibited in the Patriot Park under construction, which is scheduled to open in 2023.
