Venezuelan animal lovers run with pets to provide shelter for abandoned animals
CARACAS, VENEZUELA - APRIL 30: Hundreds of Venezuelan animal lovers on Sunday, Apr. 30, ran the streets of the capital Caracas with their pets to provide shelter for abandoned animals.Animal lovers, who drew attention to the neglect and abuse of animals during the 4-kilometer run (PetsRun) in the capital's Chacao district, tried to encourage the adoption of abandoned pets.Ricardo Rodriguez, one of the animal lovers participating in the race, said: "It was a journey for me. This is totally new, but also for him (pet), he is 13 years old and he is still active. He walks every day with me, but this is a total journey for him".Another animal lovers Alirio Ibanez said: "It was the first time I did it. Normally I would go jogging with him (pet) in the park, but this is my first time doing the race. And I think it was perfect. It was well organized. They had hydration for dogs. I think it's a good organization, they should do it more often."
