COLOMBO, SRI LANKA – FEBRUARY 16. A group of Sri Lankan dancers perform the Wadiga Patuna dance at the annual Navam Perahera religious procession held by the Gangaramaya Buddhist temple in Colombo, Sri Lanka on February 16, 2022. The Navam Perahera is an annual procession held by the Gangaramaya Buddhist temple during the Buddhist calendar month of Nawam (February-March). Considered only second to the historic procession of the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy, it was not held during the Covid-19 pandemic and now has resumed with the country gradually turning back to normalcy.
